Chad Johnson and Evelyn Lozada are headed for divorce
I don’t think many people expected Chad Johnson’s marriage to Evelyn Lozada to last forever, but I doubt many thought it would end so quickly.
Less than six weeks after the couple was married, Lozada, best known for her role on Basketball Wives, has filed for divorce from the receiver formerly known as Ochocinco.
The couple was married July 4, just 41 days ago, at a ceremony held in St. Maarten, but the honeymoon wouldn’t last long.
Johnson, the six-time Pro Bowler, was arrested for domestic abuse earlier this week. He was charged with simple domestic battery, which is a misdemeanor.
Reports claim that Johnson head-butted his new bride while the couple was rumored to have been arguing over a receipt for condoms which Evelyn found.
The problem? The couple apparently doesn’t use condoms, so why, pray tell, would Johnson be buying them?
Well, it’s not hard to figure out.
Rumors have also surfaced, though not confirmed, that this isn’t Johnson’s first time to cheat, or at least plan to cheat, on his wife. A young woman from Boston, where Johnson used to play for the New England Patriots, claims to have carried on an affair with the eccentric former wide receiver this spring, the same time that he was planning his wedding to Lozada.
After his arrest, the Miami Dolphins released the troublesome wide receiver, and now, hist future in the NFL is uncertain.
While I think any team would be crazy to sign Johnson, it’s sad to see his career end like this; even sadder to see his marriage end this way, but honestly, who can blame her?
