Joe Girardi and the New York Yankees have not had a good last three days. They went to Chicago and ended up leaving with a three game sweep at the hands of the Chicago White Sox. Girardi was giving his post game thoughts when a Sox fan decided to interrupt him. The fun began with this phrase.
“Yankees swept. Yes. Hey Girardi you bum.”
See, I do not blame Joe Girardi for this and I am a Sox fan. I mean, you just swept the team. Enjoy the win. That does not mean that you have to act like a moron. It reflects on the fan base and it just makes you look idiotic. It might seem like a good idea at the time but that is not exactly true.
This is always a double edged sword for athletes and coaches. People get mad when they want to stay confined to an office but then you see things like this getting interrupted by a fan. Just be respectful and let the man do his job. I am sure they would not like it if Girardi showed up at their office and interrupted them. Courtesy goes both ways, guys.
We really should be focusing on the baseball side of these three games. The Sox look like a serious contender in the AL, simply because they play amazing against really good teams. This is the first time the swept the Yanks at home since 1991. Everything is turning up roses so far this year. Heck, they even topped the 67 wins that Sports Illustrated predicted for them.
For once, I am not mad at a player or coach for snapping at a fan. This guy was acting like an idiot simply to be an idiot. He deserved to get snapped on and it did make for a pretty good video.
