Taylor O’Leary is not exactly a household name. She plays soccer for Central Connecticut State, which isn’t a school that is ingrained in the national mind. However, she will get all the attention after this amazing volley goal from Sunday.
See, this goal is one of the best ones that I have ever seen. Look at the amount of concentration and skill on a shot like this. She hits a perfect volley pass to herself and then she just buries the goal in the back of the net. There are probably a lot of pro soccer players who can not do that.
It may seem like a weird spot to find a highlight, but apparently college soccer is a hotbed for stuff like this. Amazing plays are happening all the time as long as you know where to look for them. I guarantee that most people could try to attempt this goal and fail every time. I would be happy if I could just get the stupid ball up in the air. Soccer isn’t exactly the forte of a lot of Americans.
For now, O’Leary is going to get her moment in the sun and she certainly deserves it. If you can pull off a goal like this, people better start respecting your game. Something tells me future opponents are going to have this move scouted and they will be ready for it. That means she is just going to have to resort to more conventional means to score. Less fun, but a lot more practical.
