Marwin Gonzalez Sums Up Houston Astros Season With One Simple Play

By Riley Schmitt

Marwin Gonzalez summed up the Houston Astros with one simply play last night. The jack of all trades infielder was trying to beat out a ground ball when he tripped and flew over first base. This resulted in a sprained ankle and he is now day to day.

The Astros have just had an awful season.  If there is a team that is ending up in the lowlight reel, it is probably them.  They just can not catch a break and it seems like every game is getting worse.  Gonzalez was trying his best to hustle out a play and he ends up getting hurt.

Thankfully, it was just a small ankle injury. When he went flying, it could have ended up being a lot worse.  That could have ruined his knee and kept him out for an extremely long time.  When you say that a guy is lucky that he only sprained his ankle, you know it could have been bad.

I feel bad for the Astros and their fans.  The problem with cheering for a bad baseball team is that the season drags on.  If you are like me, you end up watching every game you can and you still get mad at the losses.  It is like a never ending cycle.  You know what is going to happen but you simply can not turn away.

Marwin Gonzalez is going to hear about this play for a long time.  Hopefully he can look back on it and laugh.
