Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics has been in the headlines a lot recently but this might be the most interesting reason. For whatever reason, autographing babies has become the “in” thing to do. Rondo is no different and he wasted no time giving this baby an autograph.
See, I have no idea why parents would want a professional athlete to sign their baby. A picture would make sense. An autograph does not make sense because you have to wash your baby at some point. I mean, you can have him sign the clothing, but the baby is not going to get a lot of use out of that.
I am actually kind of shocked that Rajon Rondo would do something like this. For whatever reason, Rondo does not seem like the world’s nicest guy. I can’t believe he actually took this request in stride. He has acted out due to lesser things, but at least he did something for his fans.
This trend has to stop. How do you think that kid is going to feel in a couple of years when he realizes his parents used him as a piece of paper? I know that I would be pretty upset with them. It is cool that they took the kid to meet an athlete, but using him to gain a signature is kind of weird. Is paper really that expensive these days?
Basketball is slowly approaching the start of training camps, so hopefully situations like this go away because we really do not need more athletes signing babies.
