Seattle Seahawks Auctioning Off Golden Tate's Monday Night Jersey

Golden Tate will go down in history as the first player to catch a touchdown while actually never catching the ball. Sorry, I am still a little bit bitter. Anyways, the Seattle Seahawks have found a way to capitalize on the infamy from Monday night by auctioning off the game worn Tate jersey from that night.

“In the final seconds of what promises to be a game not soon forgotten, Seahawks Wide Receiver Golden Tate and Packers Defensive Back M.D. Jennings came down with a Russell WilsonHail Mary in the North End Zone at CenturyLink Field. The officials awarded the Seahawks a touchdown and a 14-12 victory on Monday Night Football.

“This is the jersey Golden wore that night. Own a piece of history by bidding on this authentic, Golden Tate game-worn #81 jersey. … This jersey is game-worn, un-washed and in the exact condition it was in when the player took it off at the end of the game.”

First things first.  I can bet that a lot of people end up bidding on that jersey.  It may seem gross but it is a piece of history.  You can own the jersey of a guy who single handedly helped end a referee lockout.  For a guy who has had a disappointing career, this has to be his high water mark so far.

If I were somehow able to have the money to bid on this and win it, you would see video of me burning this jersey.  The bitterness is certainly going to last awhile.
