Wisconsin Badgers Gangnam Style Parody
Say goodbye to the Call Me Maybe parodies and hello to Gangnam Style. The Wisconsin Badgers have officially made their own parody of the song “Gangnam Style” by Korean Rapper PSY and it’s possibly the best sports parody to this song that I’ve seen yet.
This song hit America just a couple of weeks ago and has gone viral across the nation with numerous parodies being posted in the last week. The original Gangnam Style music video was recently recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most viewed video in YouTube history with over 330 million hits, after passing up Carly Rae Jepson’s Call Me Maybe record of 227 million hits.
It is also the number one song on the charts in Australia and the UK; the song comes on at a bar and you have the entire place doing the famous dance. The beat and the dance is all it needs, and the original version isn’t even in English.
The translation of the real song is about the perfect girlfriend who knows when to be sophisticated and knowing when she can get wild. It’s most famous dance move resembles horse riding.
The Badgers have parodied this and made it their own, even altering the lyrics to make it Wisco-style. They even managed to incorporate their famous “Jump Around” dance from football games into the video. The song hit so well with the badger students that they even have t-shirts out to buy for the song, resembling it’s Korean establishment.
