High School Quarterback's "Wedding Bouquet Football Pass" Ends in a Touchdown

By Sam Saltess

A football quarterback usually practices his aim and precision, so this his perfectly spiraled throw lands safely in the arms of his receivers.

But sometimes that isn’t possible and you got to do what you got to do. For one Ohio high school quarterback, that meant a bit of a “wedding bouquet” type pass instead.

What is that, you ask? As you’ll see in the video below, it is pretty much exactly how it sounds. If you’ve ever been to a wedding and have seen the part where the bride turns around and blindly tosses her bouquet into the crowd of desperate women grabbing for the flowers, than you have an idea of what is going to happen below.

Pretty amazing, isn’t it? The quarterback, Tate Bennett of Ravenna High School in Ohio, didn’t have anywhere to go. Instead of suffering a sack from the opposing team, Field High School, with less than a minute to go in the 4th quarter, he got creative.

Backwards and near the ground, he seems to know exactly where he is and about the position of his receivers. Or it might be just luck, I’m not sure. Either way, it’s a cool play and his own teammates seem surprised he pulled that off. Plus, the look of pure shock on the other team’s face is pretty priceless.

I wouldn’t suggest Bennett try such a play again, but it sure makes for a cool, viral video. You never know, this kid might be a future Heisman winner.
