The University of Miami Men’s Hockey team defeated the Florida Jr. Blades at Kendall Ice Arena on Friday night 6-2 in an exhibition game. Attending the game was the voice of UM’s band Jason Mizrachi along with his family to drop the opening ceremony puck before the game.

The start of the game was very physical as both teams came out of the gate flying, neither backing down when it came to checking the body. The Jr. Blades are a strong fast and hard hitting team compared to the Hurricane’s opponents so far this season and looked to wear down the Cames early. In the end the Canes came out on top winning by a final score of 6-2 after figuring out the Jr. Blades’ defense and managing to capitalize on the power play.

UM travels to Germain Arena tomorrow to take on the Jr. Blades in the second of back to back exhibition games between the two teams.

#92 Brandon Seagriff talks after the game, 10/13/12.

#88 Scotty Johnson after Friday’s game, 10/13/12.

The game starts at 4:00PM and fans are urged to get to Kendall Ice Arena early for the event. Then on October 26th as the Canes take on Duke University special guest Florida Panther defenseman Ed Jovanoski will be on hand to drop the opening ceremony puck. The game will start at 8:30PM and will be at Kendall Ice Arena.
