Riley Cooper does not get a lot of attention but people will know him after this week. The Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver has had a pretty quiet career but on Sunday, he might have recorded the touchdown catch of the year.
That is how you make the highlight reels. If the Eagles can somehow continue to play like this, they are a very dangerous team on the offensive side of the ball. It was a very pretty pass from Michael Vick as he threw it where only Cooper could catch it. Of course, Cooper could barely catch it but that is simply splitting hairs. As long as Vick has time to throw, they should be fine.
The Eagles have a ton of talent, which means this slow start is really hard to understand. I expect them to start playing better, simply because of all the talent. The eye test does not back it up but the names on the roster should be too good to continue playing like crap. It seems like everything they try ends up failing. It simply can not continue like that all season.
You will certainly see this play all over highlight shows for the next few days. I would even nominate this for the catch of the season. It involves a heck of a lot of skill to make that grab and get both feet inbounds. It is not easy being a wideout but Cooper made this catch look routine. Not everyone can do something like that.
