15 Sports Figures on Santa’s Naughty List for 2012
15 Sports Figures that Will Receive Coal in Their Stockings
It’s that time of the year again for Santa to come out with his naughty and nice lists. Of course there are going to be athletes and coaches on both but everyone enjoys reviewing the naughty list.
The majority of these come from arrests or suspensions but their stories went viral over all forms of mass media. Other athletes are just plain stupids in their actions.
Then of course you have to consider the sports that have been in lockout-mode. Not only are fans not getting to watch their sports but also the organizations are losing money.
If only arrests were included on the naughty side, the list would go on for days and days. Athletes get arrested for random things pretty much everyday. Just because your team is good, it doesn’t mean that you follow the rules elsewhere.
Actually, some of them can’t even follow the rules of their sport.
Names and organizations on this list run all the way from youth football coaches to the professional leagues. Some of them aren’t even athletes anymore because they can’t get re-hired thanks to their irresponsible decisions.
Needless to say, everyone on this list should be receiving coal in their stockings when the big man in red comes to their homes. Then again, some of them won’t even be home because they’re in jail instead.
So these people may as well not bother with making their Christmas list, they can pretty much scribble out everything. However this is reality and most of them are making millions, they don’t deserve presents but that’s out of our control.
15. Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson
Johnson had a bad start after he was released from the New England Patriots and signed with the Miami Dolphins.Things changed after he got married to Evelyn Lozada. He got arrested for domestic violence against his new wife and the two were divorced within their first six weeks of marriage. He was then released by the Dolphins. Johnson's currently unemployed and wasting all of his money.
14. Dave Christensen
Wyoming's Christensen had little f*** you rant against the Air Force coach left him with a $50,000 and absolutely no respect from anyone.
13. Ryan Leaf
Leaf was charged with four felonies all in one shot. First there were accusations that broke into an “acquaintance’s” home to steal prescription pain pills. When he got out of jail, he lasted two days before he was busted for breaking in and robbing from another home. He was charged with two counts of burglary and two counts for possession of a dangerous drug.
12. Michael Mahanic
Huntingdon College golf coach Mike Mahanic took the sport a little too far. He had a nice long, very profane rant to his players on the bus after they lost a tournament. Needless to say, he was fired.
11. Bobby Petrino
This coach’s reputation fell pretty quick after his infamous event. In April, Petrino was involved in a motorcycle crash. Further investigation revealed that he was married yet romantically involved with a former Arkansas graduate. The school found out he helped her out a little too much in the athletic department and Petrino was fired. His team went on to have a horrifying season with a record of 4-8.
10. Youth Football Coach Gambling Ring
These nine men hit news all over the nation after starting a gambling ring. All of the members were coaches of a youth football league and they were using a fake barber shop as their front for gambling. People were paying thousands of dollars to bet on youth games, as well as professional and college sports.
9. Shaun White
White plain out pulled a stupid childish stunt. While he was drunk, he pulled a hotel fire alarm and then ran away. He was charged with public intoxication, vandalism, and he had a black eye to prove it.
8. Larry Johnson
Johnson managed to get another charge of assault against a woman this year at a Las Vegas Hotel. This was his fifth assault charge since 2003. I think he might need to spend some time in the slammer.
7. Melky Cabrera
He was leading the National League in hitting until he positively tested for testosterone. Cabrera was suspended 50 games and ended up missing the Giants World Series win.
6. Jerramy Stevens
This NFL tight end managed to get arrested 3 times this year. This includes that fact that he got arrested for domestic assault three days before his marriage to soccer star Hope Solo. Surprisingly, they went through with the wedding and Solo says she is happily married.
5. Jeff Gordon
Jeff Gordon intentionally wrecked Clint Bowyer in November and then participated in a scuffle in the garage after the race. He was fined $100,000 for his poor sportsmanship.
4. Ndamukong Suh
Infamous for last years stomp on the Packers’ Evan Dietrich-Smith that got him ejected from the game. He also took a nice forearm to the back of the head to Chicago’s Jay Cutler in 2010. Most recently he kicked Texans’ quarterback Matt Schaub in the groin. Although they called it unintentional, the play is very debatable. He’s one of the dirtiest players in the NFL as of now.
3. Lance Armstrong
Armstrong was formally charged in June with using performance enhancing drugs by the US Anti-Doping Agency. He was stripped form his seven Tour De France Victories, lifetime ban from cycling, and forced to step down from his own Livestrong foundation.
2. NHL Owners
You took away the hockey season!!! NHL commissioner Gary Bettman deserves the most coal in his stocking.
1. Jerry Sandusky
Last, but not least......I don't think I even need to explain why he's even on the list. To be charged with 40 counts of sexual abuse on minors is just absurd. You are the #1 on Santa's naughty list this year.
