Texas A&M Aggies redshirt freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel, known by many as “Johnny Football,” has been incredibly impressive this season. So much so that many believe he is the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this year. If that does indeed happen, he would be the first freshman ever to bring home the award.
But is the “Johnny Football” hype spiraling out of control?
Check out this video of an apparent die-hard Aggie fan getting the likeness of Johnny Manziel shaved into his haircut:
Now, I am certainly not going to deny that this barber has quite a bit of artistic talent. In fact, if you go to his website (featured at the end of the vide0), you will see other impressive examples of his art, which include the shaved faced of other sports celebrities into the people’s heads.
Fans, by definition, are fanatic. But there are fans, and there is this guy.
I consider myself to be one of the biggest sports fans that I know, however, there is not a single person on the planet for whom I would ever consider shaving his or her likeness into my head. In fact, I don’t know many people, if any, that actually would.
Sure, Manziel derserves tons of credit for the season he’s had, but this is a bit much.
But then again, I’m not the one who has to walk around with it either.
