Shawn Marion stars in Dallas Mavericks remake of classic video game

Sure, the Dallas Mavericks haven’t quite had the season they had hoped they would this year. Sitting at 13-20, things don’t look too good for the Mavs this season. In fact, since winning their first NBA crown two seasons ago, not a lot has gone right for the Mavs team, which has undergone drastic recbuilding. However, one thing that the organization always done well, and continue to do well, is make creative videos. It may not be much to brag about, but at least it provides fans with a bit of a distraction from their team’s mediocrity.

Anyone who has ever attended a Mavs game at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas will tell you that this franchise produces some of the most creative, funniest, and yes, sometimes dumbest (so dumby they still make you laugh!) videos which they play for fans on their giant video board.

Their latest video features Mavs starting forward, Shawn Marion in his very own version of Super Mario Bros. or in this case, Super “Marion” Bros.

As someone who spent many, many long hours glued to my Nintendo back in the late 80s wasting countless hours helping Mario and Luigi save the princess, I must say that this video creates a sense of nostalgia for me, as I am sure it does most Mavericks fans as well.

Yes, Mavs fans may be a bit disappointed with their team’s performance of late, but no one can deny that attending their games, no matter the outcome, is usually quite entertaining. The Mavs marketing department certainly know how to make the crowd laugh.

And goodness knows, Mavs fans sure could use a laugh this season.
