Rob Parker Says Robert Griffin III Pushes Black People Away

Source: insidedslocker.blogspot.

Remember when we all condemned Rob Parker for making comments about Robert Griffin III that were intended to be controversial? Yeah, the ESPN talking head hasn’t learned his lesson. In an interview, he said RG3 pushes black people away and then compared him to OJ Simpson.

It was never about condemning the young man … it was more about concerns, not condemning.”

It was a conversation that’s had in the black community when athletes or famous entertainers or whatever push away from their people … you saw it from OJ Simpson, “well I’m not black, I’m OJ.”

“I wasn’t saying that he wasn’t black enough. When people say that, it’s just not true. I was saying these are the conversations that take place, once a guy pushes away …”

I’m not 100 percent why this conversation needs to keep happening.  Parker should have just learned his lesson and avoided this topic.  This is one of those times that the explanation ends up looking worse than the actual comments.  Griffin is different in a way, but how is that a bad thing?  I think Parker is in shock that RG3 isn’t your typical athlete.

I guess Parker is pretty set in his way of thinking.  He isn’t going to learn his lesson from his suspension.  Griffin isn’t trying to push anyone away.  He should be celebrated for his prodigious talents and comments about how black he is or isn’t simply aren’t necessary in this day and age.

Hopefully this can be the final blow to his ESPN employment.
