The video you are about to view contains footage of Bob Costas quoting the lyrics of rapper Ludacris, that wasn’t a typo folks, Bob Costas quoting the work of acclaimed rapper and actor Ludacris.

On a recent episode of MLB Network hosts Brian Kenny and Harold Reynolds ask 61-year-old sports casting icon Bob Costas who his favorite rapper is, Costas without missing a beat replies Ludacris explaining that he has to give props to Ludacris because he was the first one who name checked him.

Costas provides a disclaimer to youngsters not condoning the behavior and then proceeds to quote the lyrics from the popular rappers track Hip Hop Quotable’s.

“Now I roll up torpedoes, get blunted with rastas, for a hefty fee, I’m on your record like Bob Costas.”

The sportscaster ends it by saying it was at that point he realized that if he were to step off a curb and get hit by a bus, he has lived a full life. The response garners huge laughter from both Kenny and Reynolds ending the clip.

In 2012, Costas was awarded the Walter Cronkite award for excellence in journalism and has hosted 9 Olympics over the course of his prestigious career so it is unorthodox to hear Costas quoting the work a multiple Grammy award winning rapper Ludacris.

Just goes to prove, you’re never too old to enjoy the work of Ludacris.
