When it comes to professional sports, some athletes become superstitious when it comes to pre-game rituals as the last thing they want to do is jinx themselves and end up with a disappointing performance. As for Shane Battier of the Miami Heat, the star forward apparently has a pre-game ritual that consists of drinking a Bud Light before the game gets underway.
While this may seem a bit ridiculous on Battier’s end, the ritual was good enough to land him a sweet reward from Bud Light that should keep him stocked up on beer for at least a couple of years.
That’s right, Bud Light decided to surprise Battier with a truck filled of Bud Light cases–around 1,110 to be exact. As you can see in the video above, Battier seemed quite surprise to see that much beer delivered to him (let’s be honest–who wouldn’t be?) in his driveway.
Bud Light wanted to thank Battier for being loyal to their brand, but I’m sure there are plenty of other beer drinkers across the country wondering where there reward is for being loyal to the popular beverage. Thanks to Bud Light, it looks like Battier won’t have to buy a single case of beer to keep his pre-game ritual going for the rest of his career as one can only imagine how long it will take to go through those 1,100 cases.
As for the Heat, they’re considered the favorites to win the NBA Finals once again after the type of regular season displayed in 2012-13.
