New York Knicks Sixth Man of the Year J.R. Smith Lives By a Hilarious Yearbook Quote

Debby Wong-USA Today Sports

Okay J.R. Smith, you win.

You may recall that this New York Knicks star made the decision to enter the NBA Draft straight out of high school. Back in 2004, Smith was selected by the New Orleans Hornets with the No. 18 overall pick, but has migrated to New York and is arguably having his best season as a professional here in 2013. Smith was recently named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year and on the heels of scoring 19 points in the Knicks’ Game 2 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, is stealing headlines once again.

TerezOwens.com put up a photo on Wednesday afternoon and it’s quite comical. It’s a picture of Smith’s yearbook photo. It gives his nickname, his sports and activities and his favorite quote. Well for starters, who actually knew that Smith’s real name is Earl Joseph Smith? Probably only a select few, but either way he goes more commonly by J.R. now, but one thing that probably hasn’t changed is the quote that he used in his high school yearbook.

The picture below speaks for itself:

Smith’s favorite quote is simply: “Get chicks or die trying.”

Yup, like I said, Smith wins. In what is probably a play off the whole “Get Rich or Die Trying,” Smith has clearly been providing some inspirational words since 2004. There’s no doubt that Smith is still living by that motto here in 2013.

So now you be the judge on Smith’s more infamous quote. Do you like this one or his whole “you trying to get the pipe” line more?
