Frank Caliendo Nails Mel Kiper Impression During 2013 NFL Draft Skit

(ESPN’s YouTube Page)

When it comes to celebrity impressions, it’s safe to say nobody does a better job than Frank Caliendo. With the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft taking place on Thursday night, ESPN decided to have a little fun with their own draft coverage by having Caliendo do his best impression of Mel Kiper and after seeing the ski–it’s safe to say this may have been one of the funniest skits the popular sports network has ever pulled off.

As you can see in the video above, Caliendo performed a skit in which he and Todd McShay were discussing whether or not Jarvis Jones would be selected in the top 10 and it was quite hilarious. For those of you  that follow these two on a regular basis, it’s safe to say Kiper and McShay rarely agree on anything–which they decided to have some fun with during the spoof.

The best part about this skit was the coffee debate in which “Kiper” and McShay started a debate about coffee as Mel considered himself a “coffee expert” and discussed how iced coffee had the advantage over hot coffee–especially wit the risk of spilling on your lap. Give ESPN credit as this was the perfect way to start their draft coverage on Thursday and it was fun to see the real Kiper being a good sport about it considering how many ways Caliendo managed to make fun of him during the skit.
