At the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, the world watched a stellar performance by R&B sensation Miguel, as he performed his hit song “Adorn.” However, it wasn’t his amazing harmonic tone that created the biggest buzz on the internet, but rather it was his unintended leg drop that he delivered on accident to a fan during the performance.
Yes, you read this correct, Miguel delivered a WWE worthy leg drop to a fan in the audience. Miguel was attempting to jump over a sea of fans from one platform to another, but at the last second he caught the fan, who was standing in the made mosh pit.
This by all means was not intended to take place during his performance and was obviously a pure accident, but it’s a bit serendipitous since the incident occurred during the WWE Extreme Rules pay per view. Without any wait at all, the interview was filled with a sea of home made memes to parallel Miguel’s leg drop with the likes of Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker, two wrestlers who are famously known for their leg drops.
One active WWE Superstar that is known for the same move is Fandango, however, his is different from Hogan and Undertakers, since Fandango jumps from the top turnbuckle and connects with his opponents lying torso. Fandango wrestled in the first match in the pay per view facing Chris Jericho, but lost to Y2J.
As mentioned before, I’m sure this will all be taken care of to make sure that all parties involved are fine moving forward. But best believe that this will raise some eye brows in Stamford, CT.
