Basketball Fan Attends D-League Game…Wins $100,000 Two Months Later

There’s no better feeling than hitting the lottery. Not that I know from personal experience, I am only speculating — must be nice.

Well, for one NBA D-League season ticket holder, that’s exactly what happened.

Holly Vogel, who is from Indiana, but has no relation to Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel, moved to the Fort Wayne area in Florida a little over a year ago. She’s a math teacher and an assistant basketball coach, but she always been a fan and has played the sport in the past. So, she decided to buy season tickets with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Well, Vogel attended one of the games back in March and her section of seats was selected as the Hoosier Lottery Lucky Section. She was given a prize pack, which included two scratch tickets. Vogel tossed the tickets into her car after the game, but simply forget about them.

During this past Memorial Day Weekend, Vogel took the time to clean out her car, low and behold there were those two scratch tickets from the prize pack. Vogel scratched them…and won $100,000.

Vogel plans to use the money as a down payment on a house with her fiance, as well as help in planning their wedding.

So, what’s the moral of this story?

Well, for those lottery buffs — maybe consider becoming an NBA D-League season ticket holder. And if you have a scratch ticket or win a scratch ticket, don’t leave it in your car for two months, you never know what treasure it might hold.
