NBA Signs Licensing Agreement With Hello Kitty

Robert Mayer-USA Today Sports

Breaking News — the NBA has reached a licensing agreement with Hello Kitty.

Seriously though, I apologize for acting as if this is news — it’s really not.

Hey good for the NBA and good for Hello Kitty.

Take a look below at the merchandise photo that was tweeted out by ESPN‘s Darren Rovell:

That pic probably is helping the stereotype of Miami Heat fans though, but whatever it’s a business opportunity.

It’s obviously a unique genre and hey, maybe it will have a chance to be successful, but in all seriousness — can we get one of these delivered to this lady?

Hello Kitty has been a very successful business over the past decade or so and this is probably a great opportunity for them to break into the NBA and the world of basketball. Good for them.

I doubt that the lady above is shopping at Hello Kitty though, so in fact, they might have to target a younger, more laid back crowd.

We probably are not going to see any Hello Kitty apparel at tonight’s game, but we will see some Heat fans who are willing to spend some money. According to Rovell, the average resale ticket tonight is quite the hefty investment:
