New Florida Gulf-Coast Head Coach Joe Dooley Has a Sweet #DunkCity Ride

Matthew Emmons-USA Today Sports

College basketball fans will never forget the Sweet 16 run and #DunkCity memories that the 2013 Florida Gulf-Coast Eagles provided this past March.

Well, with the team’s unheard of success in becoming the first ever 15-seed in NCAA Tournament history to advance to the Sweet 16, new opportunities have come up. Most notably for former head coach Andy Enfield, whose high-flying philosophy ultimately triggered the whole #DunkCity theme.

Enfield is now on the west coast, agreeing to become the new head coach of the USC Trojans, while Florida Gulf-Coast opted for former Kansas Jayhawks‘ assistant Joe Dooley as his replacement.

Well, Dooley is ready to take charge and keep the whole #DunkCity theme going for the 2013-14 season. In fact, he even has a new ride that he’s showing off and he took to Twitter to make things public:

It’s going to be difficult for Dooley to recreate what the Eagles accomplished this season, there’s just simply no comparison for it. However, there’s no better position for a new head coach to be in than the one at Florida Gulf-Coast. No, I’m not just talking about the palm trees and resort-like feel to the campus — I mean even from a basketball sense.

Granted Florida Gulf-Coast isn’t going to be the school to land some of the top recruits in the country, but they still have a major selling point, both on and off the court.

#DunkCity
