Without even trying, New England Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow always seems to find a way to be the center of attention. While most of the attention is whether or not he has what it takes to be a quarterback at the NFL level, it appears Tebow is making headlines for other reasons–such as how he was almost drafted by the Los Angeles Angels.
Apparently, Boston Red Sox scout Tom Kotchman recently discussed how the Angels wanted to draft the quarterback after high school, but he failed to return his information card to the team. As of everybody knows, Tebow went on to have one of the greatest college football careers of all time before making the transition to the NFL–even though it hasn’t worked out as well as he would have liked to do.
Even if Tebow did have a phenomenal baseball career in high school, it’s difficult to imagine him on a team like the Angels. Then again, Tebow’s baseball career couldn’t have been much worse than his professional football one so far–so who knows what to think about this?
As for Tebow joining the Patriots, it will certainly be interesting to see how he fits in New England and if he can manage to land a roster spot for the 2013 season. The Patriots have a history of taking risks on players who have struggled in the past–so only time will tell when it comes to seeing if this works out for the Patriots.
