Anna Benson, the estranged wife of former MLB pitcher Kris Benson, is in the news again and this time it isn’t for appearing at a Christmas party for children dressed as a sexy Mrs. Claus or for proclaiming on “The Howard Stern Show” that she would sleep with all of Kris’ teammates if he ever cheated on her. This time, Anna, a 37-year-old mother of four (three of them with Kris), made the news for something far more dangerous.

Dressed in a bullet-proof vest and ammo belt with a gun, retractable baton, taser, hatchet, knife, 13 rounds of ammunition, syringes and pills in her possession, Anna decided to pay a visit to her ex-husband to demand money on Sunday. Anna reportedly surprised Kris as he exited the bathroom in the master bedroom in the home they couple once shared in Marietta, Ga. She demanded $30,000 and pointed the pistol at her former husband.

Kris, in a moment of quick-thinking told Anna he needed to get his wallet. He then raced downstairs and escaped the house to a wooded area nearby where he phoned police. When police arrived they found Anna smoking a cigarette on the back porch. When confronted by officers Anna said she didn’t think she did anything wrong. She also explained the wearing of the ballistic vest as part of a deal with the company and she was wearing it to mold it to her body. No explanation was offered for the extra hardware she was carrying.

The relationship between Anna and Kris was once the talk of baseball. Anna was gracing covers of magazines and was labeled as “Baseball’s Hottest Wife” by FHM. She had been a member of the cast of VH1’s “Baseball Wives” in 2011 and 2012. Anna was well-known for her antics as well, appearing in a revealing “Mrs. Claus” dress during a Christmas party while Kris was with the New York Mets. During her stint on “Baseball Wives,” Anna threatened to beat the wife of Chuck Knoblauch with a 12-inch adult toy.

Anna has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and battery with a gun, possession of a firearm in a felony and criminal trespass. She reportedly struck a computer monitor in the bedroom with her baton as well. She is currently being held without bond in Cobb County.
