Over the last year or so, the only connection Carly Rae Jepsen really had with the sports world was all of the YouTube videos that were made to her hit song “Call Me Maybe” by professional athletes and cheerleaders. Now, it appears the popular singer will be remembered for something else as well–throwing out one of the worst first pitches of all time before a baseball game.

Jepsen threw out the first pitch during Sunday’s game between the Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays–which didn’t go down well at all. There have been plenty of awful first pitches thrown over the years by famous celebrities, but Jepsen’s throw was just straight-up embarrassing on her end.

It would be one thing if Jepsen fell just short of the catcher at home plate, but she some how managed to have the ball just hit the ground shortly after releasing it. Lucky for Jepsen, she’s popular enough where she can get away with pulling off a hilarious act like this and just laugh about it.

As for the Rays, they managed to go on and win the game 5-0 thanks to a strong performance Chris Archer as the team heads into the All-Star break with a 55-41 record. It will certainly be interesting to see how things play out in the AL East considering how well all of the teams are playing, but at least there’s one thing to be sure of–which is Jepsen most likely won’t be throwing out a first pitch anytime soon.
