If there’s anything to take away from the 2012 NFL season–it would be Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is an absolute monster on the football field and has a bright future in the league for years to come. So when the defensive star posts a ridiculous video of himself online in which he completes a 59.5 inch box jump–it shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone.

Obviously, every player in the NFL has to be extremely athletic, but for anyone to pull off a jump like this is beyond impressive and when considering Watt’s size–it makes it even more impressive. Last season, Watt showed why he’s one of the top defensive stars in the league after recording 20.5 sacks and with his work ethic–chances are he’s going to post similar numbers once again in 2013.

Over the last two seasons, the Texans have finally gotten over the hump when it comes to being one of the top contenders in the AFC as they’ve managed to reach the playoffs in each of the last two seasons. Expectations will be even higher for Houston heading into next year and how far this team goes may rely heavily on the shoulders of Watt’s impact on defense.

If this video of Watt managing to pull off an impressive 59.5 inch box jump is any indication of how motivated he is to play next season–the rest of the AFC could be in trouble if they have to square off against the Texans.
