In less you were living under a rock, you know by now that Prince William and Duchess Kate had their child on Monday.
However, what you might not know is that Prince William is a fan of English Premier League side Aston Villa, and the club will be releasing a “royal baby” clothesline. The merchandise line would be sold at team stores and include baby socks, pacifiers, bibs and other baby items. Aston Villa wasted little time in congratulating their fan Prince William on Twitter:

This is a genius idea by Aston Villa. People around the world were obsessing over when Kate would finally give birth, and Villa can make some serious money off of this new merchandise line.
Hardcore fans will want their children in baby-sized jerseys that say HRH, which stands for “His Royal Highness”. The club seems really confident that the royal baby will grow up a Villa fan and want to capitalize on this fact before the baby speaks his first word.
While this might seem like obsession by Villa, sports teams are also businesses and this is a great business opportunity for them. The question remains whether or not Villa fans will be lining up for their own “royal baby” merchandise or if this idea will be a dud. If the last few weeks are any indication, this merchandise line will be a success and be sold out soon.
Because of Villa’s brilliant business idea, the royal baby hype will live on past July.
