Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman Really Likes Snakes
Josh Freeman is an up-and-coming NFL quarterback. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ signal-caller has risen in the ranks of NFL quarterbacks ever since his stellar 2010 season in which he threw for over 3,400 yards with 25 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Oh, and did I mention, he had the highest quarterback rating in team history that season as well? Freeman is a pretty solid QB with a growing fan base.
Every athlete has their quirks, however. Whether it’s having an odd pre-game ritual, crazy superstitions or collecting snakes — wait, collecting snakes? Yes, Freeman is now known for something other than football — at least for right now.
The 25-year-old quarterback has been everything the Bucs could have asked for when they drafted him 17th overall in 2009. He has broken a few franchise records and has basically changed the culture in Tampa Bay.
However, his love for snakes might take people a little while to get used to. Well, you might be saying “a couple snakes isn’t that bad, is it? It’s not really noteworthy.” In that case, you might be right, but it’s not just a couple of snakes. Freeman owns at least five of the slithering reptiles.
He said his love for the animal came when he was in third grade when he got his first snake. Ever since, he’s had a soft spot in his heart for the seemingly harmless reptile.
It may be odd to love an animal like this so much, but to each their own. Josh Freeman may be a little weird and no one may ever go to his house, but he’s still a pretty good guy — we think.
