Even if you hate the New York Yankees as a team, it’s hard to deny the fact that Derek Jeter has always been one of the most respected baseball players of all time and has proven to be one heck of a leader throughout his career. Unfortunately, Jeter has been dealing with numerous injuries this season that has forced him to play in only a few games and with the Yankees having an off day on Thursday–the future Hall of Famer decided to pay a visit to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon–which turned out to be nothing short of awesome.

Not only did Jeter and Fallon share hilarious stories from the past, but the popular talk-show host decided to honor the captain with suggestions for when he goes to bat for the Yankees. One of the coolest things about Jeter coming up to bat is he still comes out to the voice of Bob Sheppard giving him an introduction, but Fallon thought it would be funny to come up with creative songs of his own for Jeter to use.

While the first two songs were alright and more along the lines of funny, the final song Fallon and members of The Roots came up with for Jeter was pretty impressive. Be sure to check out the hilarious video to witness what could end up being one of the greatest Jeter raps of all time–so props to Fallon for coming up big once again with another hilarious skit.
