Dufnering Craze Takes Over Professional Sports

You are having a long work day. It feels like hours since you have had your lunch break. Your eyes are closing and you try to fight off the urge to sleep. Nonetheless, you lean back on your back seat and doze off. Moments later, your workplace gets rather rowdy. You wake up to find out what just happened. It turns out everybody is looking at a coworker's Twitter picture of you dufnering.

Dufnering is the latest sports-inspired photo craze in which participants are caught slouching against the wall asleep looking lifeless, dazed, or confused. The craze was inspired by a picture of American pro golfer Jason Dufner leaning against the wall and fast asleep. He was visiting the Salesmanship Youth and Family Center in Irving, Texas, when the teacher was discussing focus and relaxation. Two media days in one week got the best of him, and so he dozed off for a minute. The moment pro golfer Keegan Bradley tweeted the photo, his followers began taking pictures of themselves mimicking the same slouched pose with the hashtag "#dufnering."

It is golf's equivalent to the NFL's "Tebowing", which is named after quarterback Tim Tebow's tendency to kneel down in prayer, while everyone else is busy doing something else. First there was planking -- the act of lying down with arms to the sides in unusual places, then Tebowing, and now we have Dufnering. It is funny to see pictures of people performing hilarious stuff. It is funny to catch friends sleeping. Now it is even more funny if they were caught Dufnering. Here are the top 10 pictures of professional athletes mimicking the Dufner pose.
