According to an article written by the Denver Post, Denver Nuggets‘ star Ty Lawson was released on bond this past Saturday morning after being arrested on charges of criminal mischief and harassment.

Apparently Lawson had arrived home early Saturday morning and was talking on the phone with another woman when his girlfriend, Ashley Pettiford, decided she’d had enough and attempted to pack up her things and leave.

According to the report, after Pettiford attempted to pack up, Lawson grabbed her clothes and strew them about the room. As Pettiford moved towards the closet to get her things, Lawson grabbed her by the arms and pushed her back. Pettiford, angered by Ty’s actions then threw his phone against the wall “in an attempt to get some control out of the situation.” When Pettiford tried to call her mother, Lawson grabbed her phone out of her hand and also threw it against the wall. Seeing as it wasn’t broken, he then ran it under the bathroom faucet.

Pettiford’s mother contacted the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s office around 9:30 a.m. when she could not contact her daughter and had been told that they were fighting earlier that morning. She also told officials that she was worried for her daughter’s safety because she was six months pregnant and Lawson had pushed her before.

When deputies arrived on the scene they found it in disarray with a variety of items including clothes, hangers and even laptops strewn about the floor. Upon entering the bedroom they noticed a broken lamp shade and a suitcase near the closet.

Both were arrested on charges of criminal mischief, harassment and domestic violence. However, they were each released on bond later that day.
