Soccer Player Shown Red Card for Showing Referee His Private Parts

Well this doesn’t happen everyday, but a player was given a straight red card something rather unique. In Saturday’s FA Cup preliminary round match against Colliers WoodCroydon Athletic‘s Louis Blake was sent off for flashing the referee his private parts.

After being subbed on, the head referee noticed that Blake’s black undergarments did not match his maroon uniform. According to FA regulations, players’ underwear must match their uniforms. Because Blake did not match his colors, he was forced to go to the locker room and change.

However, he did not have maroon underwear and planned to go commando for the rest of the match.

When Blake returned from the locker room, the referee ordered him to show he took off his black underwear, but his shorts slipped down too far and he exposed his privates. As a result, Blake was sent off and was baffled by the referee’s red card decision, and talked about it post-game:

“I was gobsmacked, I was shocked and I was angry. I just pulled my shorts forward a bit to show him there was nothing there and he gave me a red … How else am I meant to prove I’ve got nothing on down there?”

It is unfortunate that the referee gave Blake a red card, but I have a piece of advice for him — match your colors next time, and this would have never happened.

However, Blake thought black and maroon matched, and will now have to miss three games. In the end, this is one funny way to earn a red card, and Blake could be the laughing stock on the next segment of Sports Center’s Not Top 10 Plays.
