Bo Pelini Pulls Off Awesome Prank On Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Team

Bo Pelini is known for being a fiery head coach with a ton of passion for the game of football. Pelini has been seen on the sidelines during games screaming at officials, lecturing players and just flat out voicing his opinion. Like him or not, he’s a great head coach and one of the more successful of his kind as a member of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

On August 16, Pelini decided to play a prank on his team to loosen the mood that could otherwise be tense during offseason workouts. The coach has been known for his outbursts and his players know that. He decided to include fifth-year senior Thad Randle in the prank, making it a bit more believable.

Watch what happens when Randle’s phone goes off in the middle of a team meeting. One of Pelini’s big rules is that no phones are allowed during team meetings, so keep that in mind.

As you can see, the team was shocked that Randle’s phone went off and he picked it up and began texting. Some players were begging the senior to shut his phone off so the coach could go on with the meeting, but that didn’t do the trick.

Pelini walks out of the room, walks back in, takes Randle’s ‘phone’ and smashes it with a hammer. This could be a new fad in college football — the Bo Pelini smash.

The best part is when Randle walks out, followed up with a fake altercation with his head coach in the hallway. The team looks shocked that this act of ridiculousness went down and Pelini’s assistant ends the suspense with a message on the screen in the front of the room saying:

GOT YA! We’re going to a movie tonight!  -Bo

Just a classic.
