Rafael Nadal's Tennis Shot Against Ryan Harrison Is Flat-Out Ridiculous

Rafael Nadal is one of the best tennis players in the entire world. In fact, he has 636 career singles victories to go along with 11 Grand Slam titles. The 27-year-old superstar from Spain has taken over the tennis world since bursting onto the scene in 2005 as a fresh-faced 19-year-old kid.

Just how good is this guy? Watch this ridiculous video of Nadal in his match with Ryan Harrison at the 2013 U.S. Open. You won’t believe your eyes.

As you can see, Nadal looks like he is on the bring of losing the point when Harrison puts a spike on the ball up close to the net, but he should have known that he was up against a growing tennis legend. Nadal returns the spike with a deadly overhand shot that takes one of those crazy turns that make you question everything you learned in your high school physics class.

First off, Nadal running across the court like a mad-man is impressive enough, but the fact that he returns what looked like it was going to be a point for Harrison into one of the best tennis shots you’ll see all year. Many people don’t give this sport enough credit, but after seeing a shot like this, I’m sure many believers were made. Nadal made a great play and did something that  I didn’t even think was possible with a tennis racket.

Looks like I found my new favorite tennis player and the Spaniard is sure to have more amazing shots in store for the rest of the U.S. Open and its fans.

If you’re looking to see Nadal later this week in Queens, you can grab U.S. Open tickets here.
