Johnny Manziel is one of those athletes that seems to make headlines no matter how he performs week in and week out. This offseason has been an eventful one for the reigning Heisman winner, seemingly finding his way into the news for all the wrong reasons. The Texas A&M Aggies‘ quarterback has been put on somewhat of a short leash under head coach Kevin Sumlin.
Manziel’s autograph scandal has been one of the most controversial happenings in the offseason and with the quarterback involved in such a scandal, it left him as the center of attention — once again — in the college football world.
The NCAA met with the sophomore and decided, along with Texas A&M, that it would only hand down a one-half suspension on him for the first game of the season against the Rice Owls.
Doesn’t seem very fair now, does it? Most people disagreed with the joke of a punishment and disagreed even more when Manziel took the field in the second half, threw three touchdowns and mocked the lowly Owls.
People were beginning to wonder if he would ever be mature enough to make it in the sport. With as much attention and coverage that the kid gets, it’s almost like he’s doomed to fail. In fact, he might be the most polarizing athlete in college football since Tim Tebow a few years back.
During the game against Rice, Manziel got tackled on a run play, stood up and proceeded to taunt Rice with a gesture that looked to say ‘I’m not signing your autograph’ by signing the air with his hand.
Well, that air that he signed has been put up for sale on eBay by a fan recently. Check out the hilarious ad here:
This is some pretty funny stuff.
