Over the last couple of seasons, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has been quite popular with his “Superman” celebration in which he tends to rip his shirt off and pretend to show off the “S” on his chest. Now, Newton has taken the whole Superman thing to another level in honor of the 2013 NFL season by rocking a fresh pair of kicks on his feet with Superman shoes.
As you can see in the photo above, Newton decided to bring out the Superman cleats for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks–and they’re just as awesome as they sound. Newton has shown off some impressive Superman gear over the years, but these cleats may be the coolest thing he’s pulled off yet.
Expectations are high for Newton as the Panthers quarterback heads into his third NFL season with the team as many believe Carolina has what it takes to be a sleeper team when it comes to making a run at the playoffs. Newton has looked impressive at times during his first two seasons in the league, but he still has plenty of areas in need of improvement in the passing game.
Still, whether Newton has an impressive year with the Panthers or not–at least he’ll always have some nice Swag on his feet with those flashy Superman cleats. Who knows, maybe the shoes will be the reason behind the Panthers making the playoffs this season–but let’s not get too carried away this early in the year.
