UCLA Head Coach Jim Mora Jr. Freaks Out on Disrespectful Reporter

Jim Mora Jr.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The UCLA Bruins‘ family lost a member in Nick Pasquale, a lightly-used player that was killed in a car accident this weekend. Head coach Jim Mora Jr. took time out of his busy schedule to talk to the media about the well-liked young man and give him somewhat of a public eulogy.

It’s tough to see young college athletes dies in tragic ways and this is certainly one of those instances. Mora Jr. was clearly upset with the loss of his young team member and what made him even more upset was a noisy reporter who was apparently talking loudly on his phone during the press conference.

Mora Jr. stopped what he was saying and promptly told the reporter to ‘hey, shut up’ and tried to move on from that but the frustration with the situation clearly settled in. Watch the video of Mora Jr. freaking out at the reporter here:

He carried a serious tone throughout, clearly setting the tone for the press conference to be one of sadness and one of moving forward. The Bruins’ head coach obviously wanted to get in, talk about the loss of the player and leave without any interruptions, but that just couldn’t happen.

A reporter knows that you never interrupt a press conference in any way — no matter what the conference is pertaining to. This one is especially bad because it is Mora Jr. providing somewhat of a background into how he and his team feels about the situation.

Show some respect and get off your phone next time.
