Here in New York City, we are taking the time out to remember the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center 12 years ago. You see people posting inspirational messages on their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Vine, Pinterest etc. This is the time we mourn for the victims who were killed and the heroes who saved the lives of others, but sacrificed their own lives as well.
On this day, I always remember sitting in high school hearing about the attacks as they were going on and thinking someone was playing a joke on us until I heard a student crying about the relative being down in the area for working purposes or telling some students they may have to stay at school after school in the auditorium.
Today, some New York Jets players took to twitter to go along with the city they play in and the nation in remembering this tragic event:
We will never forget 12 years ago today. Prayers up for 9/11 #FDNY #NYPD #NYSTRONG

Tragic events usually brings cities, countries and worlds together. And as tragic as September 11th was, it brought a city and a nation closer than it ever was before. Take flight Jets nation, and remember this day with your fellow Jets players and continue to prove how strong of a city and nation we really are.
