The North Carolina Tar Heels will be taking the field on September 28 with a new look — at least for the day. The Tar Heels had a special military appreciation helmet designed for the game on Military Appreciation Day. Head coach Larry Fedora ordered these awesome red, white and blue helmets to be made for the special occasion.
Check out the awesome helmets here:

As you can see, the helmets are pretty patriotic to say the least. Revealing these helmets around the time of September 11 was a good move, too, because it shows that the school supports what the country is doing and it might be one of the most patriotic schools in the NCAA.
Last year for Military Appreciation, the Tar Heels’ Kenan Memorial Stadium saw some patriotic changes on the field, but this year it will be on their helmets — at the very least.
It will be cool to see what the rest of the uniform looks like if the helmets are this enticing. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a full red, white and blue overhaul in the uniform for the single game. This uniform is likely to be a hit and I wish every college team would take notes and have their own type of Military Appreciation uniform or hemet.
This is great work by the university by honoring America and its troops. Can’t wait to see this team take the field against East Carolina on September 28 just to see the cool unis.
