The NFL and beer go together like spaghetti and meatballs. Okay maybe not, but you get the point.
When you go to an NFL game, you’re bound to see plenty of football-loving fanatics tipping and spilling a plastic cup of beer as they cheer on their favorite team. If you’ve ever been to one of those games, though, you know that those inebriated crazies probably paid an arm and a leg for that brew.
To give you a better idea of just how big of a hit their wallet took to acquire that frothy palate-pleaser, Team Marketing Report did some research into how much each team was charging on game day.
Here’s a look at what they found:
|Team Name||Price per Ounce||Price for 12 Ounce Beer|
|Green Bay Packers||$.47||$5.64|
|St. Louis Rams||$.45||$5.40|
|San Francisco 49ers||$.45||$5.40|
|Kansas City Chiefs||$.44||$5.28|
|New York Giants||$.42||$5.04|
|New York Jets||$.42||$5.04|
|San Diego Chargers||$.42||$5.04|
|New England Patriots||$.38||$4.56|
|Tampa Bay Buccaneers||$.36||$4.32|
|New Orleans Saints||$.35||$4.20|
Is there some sort of beer drought going on in the Motor City?
The different between what the Detroit Lions charge for a 12oz beer ($8.04) and what you’ll pay at a Carolina Panthers game ($3.24) is astronomical. If you love wetting your whistle with a cold one while watching Calvin Johnson wreaking havoc at Ford Field, be prepared to pay a pretty penny to do so.
We already knew anything bought inside the stadium is expensive, but some NFL teams seem to enjoy ripping their fans off more than others when it comes to beer.
