Tim Tebow is a pretty popular guy. In fact, he’s so popular that people in Jacksonville have started a petition of sorts to get the quarterback to play back home in his native Florida for the Jacksonville Jaguars. There is going to be a rally for Tebow held by certain hardcore Jaguars fans at 3:16 p.m. EST on Monday in order to make a point to the organization’s front office: sign Tebow — or else.
Yes, Jags fans are a scary bunch. They are so passionate about their team that they even complain when they are on TV instead of the Manning Bowl. Oh wait, that’s not right.
Okay, so Jaguars fans aren’t exactly the most passionate but they certainly will be soon. The “sign Tim Tebow” rally will be held in the EverBank Field parking lot and it could spark some discussion in the Jacksonville front office, possibly leading some people to think, “why not?”.
Indeed, why not? I mean this team is already awful and not getting better any time soon. With Blaine Gabbert as the team’s quarterback for the foreseeable future, it doesn’t look like an improvement is in their future.
Why not add a terrible Tebow to a terrible roster? I mean it really can’t hurt because this team can’t get any worse.
Another note to make, the rally is being held at 3:16 p.m., making a reference to the Bible verse, John 3:16. The verse states, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
This eludes to the fact that Tebow is very religious and many people have knocked him for being overly religious.
This will be something to keep an eye on.
