Even though we’re still months away from Super Bowl XLVIII, lots of chatter is already surrounding the big game. The farmer’s almanac is predicting it will snow and the NFL is upsetting many fans by jacking up ticket prices. One guy who thought he was going to get hooked up for the big game was none other than Chris Christie. The New Jersey Governor has a season-long luxury suite at MetLife stadium and because of that, he thought he would get it for the Super Bowl this February. Apparently, that’s not the case.
According to spokesperson Michael Drewniak, the Governor does get a suite for the Super Bowl, just because he has one during the regular season:
“The governor does not have a suite for the Super Bowl. But he is the governor of New Jersey and a huge sports and NFL fan. I think it’s safe to say that come hell or high water, he’ll be in MetLife Stadium somewhere on game day.”
Christie had apparently been bragging about his SB suite for weeks and was boasting that he was going to be able to pick 24 VIPS to attend the game with him.
The NFL, to no surprise, only wants to rent out the suites to folks willing to spend tons of cash. All regular season suite holders will be pushed aside for those that are willing to shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars. Don’t feel too bad for them, though, sounds like a bunch of first world problems to me.
