One of the most interesting–and disgusting–stories to take away from Week 3 of the 2013 NFL season involved Arizona Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson and how he lost the tip on one of his fingers while attempting to make a tackle against the New Orleans Saints. As crazy as this story is, it’s even more crazy that Johnson was still able to play the rest of the game and act like this injury was no big deal.

Obviously, an injury like this should be no laughing matter and it’s difficult not to cringe just thinking about it, but that doesn’t mean the Cardinals still can’t poke fun over the idea of what happened.

As you can see in the photo below, the official Twitter account for the Cardinals decided to have some fun this week by creating a “prototype” foam finger in honor of Johnson. Normally, the famous foam fingers are making the “We’re No. 1” sign with the pointer finger, but Arizona decided to get creative for Johnson by showing an image with the tip of one finger missing.

Even in the most disgusting situations, the Cardinals still manage to pull off a hilarious joke like this one. Not many players would be able to remain in the game like Johnson did and if anyone ever questions his toughness on the football field–all you have to do is look back to Week 3 and ask how many players would be capable of still playing after losing the tip of their finger?
