According to an article in the Miami Herald, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade will have his own sock collection with designer sock company “Stance.”

It was reported in the article that Wade owns over 400 pairs of socks, which is far more socks than any one individual could possibly need in their lifetime. However, amongst his favorites are an old school pairing picturing the likes of NBA great Bill Walton, red beard and all.

“It’s Bill Walton on socks,” Wade said. “I mean, come on.”

But he doesn’t stop at socks, as Wade will be launching “The Gentlemen Collection by Dwyane Wade,” in association with a neckwear company called the Tie Bar. This collection will feature a varietal of bow ties in various colors and designs.

“It just started from liking to dress,” Wade said . “For me it was just always having fun with it and looking nice and taking chances, but to get to the point of being known for fashion and then one day have my own line, I never could have imagined that.”

Wade has always been known for his unique sense of fashion and has been featured in a number of different fashion magazines across the world. In 2006, he was named the NBA’s best dressed player by GQ magazine, and in 2007, he was named to the fourth annual Best Dressed Men in the World list by Esquire magazine.

It’s no surprise that this “fashionista” is becoming more involved within the fashion world. But truly, what Dwyane Wade should be concentrating on is rehabbing his knee so he can help the Heat to a third consecutive championship this season. Then maybe we can discuss the topic of socks and bow ties.
