For the third-straight season, the Detroit Tigers are AL Central champions as they clinched the division title following another 1-0 win over the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday night as they look to make another run at representing the American League in the 2013 World Series. With the amount of talent on this year’s roster from their pitching rotation to the offense, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see the Tigers winning the division once again as they certainly have enough talent to make a deep run.
As expected, Wednesday’s win was filled with plenty of celebration as players enjoyed the traditional champagne shower that tends to follow after a team clinches a playoff spot. However, there was one thing the Tigers or their fans most likely didn’t expect following Wednesday’s win–which would be some sweet dance moves from manager Jim Leyland.
This time of year always brings unexpected surprises from players when it comes to celebrating, but even at 68-years-old–the Tigers manager still knows how to bust a move as he was caught on camera showing off his dance moves to celebrate the Tigers clinching the division. Normally, Leyland has always been the type of manager who always seems intense with a serious look on his face, but it’s always nice to see his sense of humor once in a while during moments like this.
After months of waiting, the 2013 MLB postseason is right around the corner and the Detroit Tigers are ready again to make another run at playing in the World Series.
