Lane Kiffin‘s tenure as the head coach of the USC Trojans was a roller-coaster ride. It had it’s ups and it definitely had its downs, but in the end, Kiffin’s departure from the program on Saturday night was one of the most embarrassing things to happen to the guy since his former team’s 62-41 loss to the Arizona State Sun Devils that same night. Okay, so this entire year has been an embarrassment for Kiffin, but that’s all over now that he’s been fired.

You might be wondering how the head coach got fired just hours after the team’s loss, and let me tell you, it was not subtle in any way, shape or form. Pat Haden, the USC athletic director, took Kiffin off the team bus at the Los Angeles International Airport and fired him on the spot. Kiffin told the bus to wait for him, but the school administrators, including Haden, told the bus driver to take the team back to campus without the former coach.

He left his briefcase on the bus when it left him in embarrassing fashion and it looks like USC wanted nothing to do with the mediocre head coach.

I’m going to go ahead and assume Tennessee Volunteers fans are ecstatic with the way his firing was handled, especially since he left their program in a classless manner.

This is just awesome.
