For years, Barry Sanders was an absolute terror to all NFL defenses when he was a running back for the Detroit Lions.

After winning the Heisman Trophy as a running back for Oklahoma State in college, he went on to rush for 15,269 yards and 99 touchdowns during his NFL career, despite only playing for 10 years in the league.

Many believe Sanders to be the greatest running back of all time, and he had fans from all over. It’s now 2013, and there is another Sanders running the rock.

That’s right, Barry Sanders Jr. He is the son of the great running back and is currently a redshirt freshman at Stanford. On Saturday night against Washington State, he gave people severe flashbacks with this run.

It was just a simple screen play, but it looked practically identical to what his dad used to do to defenders each and every Sunday. You can hear the announcers almost lose their minds after watching the run.

Sanders is still only a sophomore and is working his way into the rotation this season, but you can see he has all of the tools to be a great college running back.

While he will always have to deal with questions and comparisons to his dad, it looks like he will be able to handle them and have a solid career of his own. But for now, everyone can enjoy the old memories of his dad through him and remember the good old days.
