Tony Romo played the game of his career this past Sunday, minus one late-game interception. Romo threw for over 500 yards and five touchdowns as the Dallas Cowboys fell just short of knocking off the Denver Broncos. Some people were really hammering Romo following the contest, but let’s be honest, the Cowboys wouldn’t have even been in the game without their Pro Bowl quarterback.
At the same time, there’s no denying how bad that interception had to sting for Romo and his teammates. It’s with that in mind, that a Washington D.C. bar has created a special for this Sunday’s game. The Cowboys will be in town to take on the Washington Redskins in a battle of NFC East rivals, so Duffy’s Irish Pub in D.C. has taken this opportunity to reward its patrons after every Romo interception.
Patrons of Duffy’s that wear Redskins’ gear will receive a free shot of Jameson (Irish whiskey) for every pick the opposing QB throws. However, Jameson is not for everybody and you can bet that many people will pass on the second round if it happens.
It will be interesting to see how Romo responds after such a disappointing end to what could have been his career-game. On the other side of the ball, the Redskins are coming off a bye week and will be looking to crawl back into playoff contention in the NFC. Robert Griffin III should be well-rested and feeling as confident as he has in months on his surgically repaired right knee.
Even though SNF is matchup of two teams with losing records, it should still be entertaining for fans. Especially, for those watching at Duffy’s Irish Pub.
