Kobe Bryant is fighting to get healthy this offseason. After tearing his Achilles near the end of the 2012-13 season, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar was forced to sit out the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs. The team was doomed from that point on as it was seemingly lost without its leader.

The road to recovery has been a long one for Kobe. It’s been filled with junk food, no running and far too much time off the court. In fact, the superstar shooting guard claims that he is now “fat” because of all the time he had spend eating whatever he wanted to eat and not being able to work out like he had done before his injury.

Check out what the workout freak said about his inability to stay in shape during his rehab.

“I’ve got to get my fat ass in shape. Six months of eating whatever the hell I wanted to eat and not running, stuff like that. I’ve got to get in shape.”

While the media may have taken this as a joke, Bryant legitimately thinks he’s getting big and he wants you to take a look at him and tell him if his outfit makes him look fat. Okay, maybe he’s not going that far. However, you can tell the guy wants to win so bad that he’s mad at himself for letting his shape come into question heading into the season.

He is, by no means, fat but if that’s something that motivates him and gets him into basketball shape, then let the man think he’s fat.

Put down the Snickers bar, Kobe.
