Top 20 Angriest Athletes in Pro Sports
The 20 Most Anger Filled Athletes
There are lots of angry athletes in the world of sports. Mean mugs and distressed looks are the norm on the hardwood, gridiron, diamond and ice. Some players only know one way to go about their business, and that's with anger.
In some cases, anger gives players an edge. If channeled properly, anger can often put players over the top. While I wouldn't go as far to say that Michael Jordan played angry basketball, he was master at taking his frustrations and using them to fuel his competitive fire.
With other athletes, they're not happy unless they're angry. These are the players that rarely crack smiles during game time. That's fine and dandy, as long as it's not detrimental to the team.
With all that being said, just because an athlete is angry during competition, doesn't mean they're angry in real life. Often times we see these same people away from competition and they're nothing but smiles. Some athletes transform and essentially take on a entirely different personality, but hey, whatever works.
So with all of that in mind, let's take a look at the angriest athletes in professional sports today:
Honorable Mention - Jay Cutler
Honorable Mention - Matt Barnes
Honorable Mention - Brock Lesnar
Honorable Mention - Colin Kaepernick
Honorable Mention - Carlos Zambrano
Smith has been one of the best receivers in football for a long time now, but he's done while being mad as heck. The picture above is classic SS.
This guy is always stirring the pot on the mound. They say he's yelling at himself half the time, but regardless of where the hate is directed, dude is mad.
Ratliff always seems to be upset. But maybe it was just because Jerry Jones was his boss? Guess we'll find out when he signs with a new team.
There's nobody better at stirring the pot in the UFC than Sonnen. This guy is always mad about something and running his mouth. But for the most part, he can back it up.
She's the best women's tennis player in the world, but she's also the maddest. For her, being PO'd constantly on the court seems to work. You certainly can't argue with her results.
The Texans' star DE is not a guy you want to mess with. He broke his nose in a game recently and instead of making him more docile, it just infuriated him.
The Beard just has that crazy look in his eyes. He has no problem relaxing when he's not on the mound, but when he toes the rubber, the guy is straight up intense. He also recently yelled at a Giants' executive for about 30 seconds straight.
T-Sizzle is always fired up about something. It could be a call on the field or the fact that he thinks Roger Goodell turned off the lights during Super Bowl XLVII.
Noah seems like he's a pretty chill guy off the court, but on the court, he transforms into an angry, hustling and rebounding machine. However, that's why Bulls' fans love him.
Metta World Peace
World peace my foot. This guy is a ticking time bomb. You never know when he's going to fly off the handle and elbow somebody in the eye socket.
When you talk about players that always have a bad look on their face, Suh immediately comes to mind. I guess I'd be mad too if the NFL kept fining the living crap out of me.
Rousey is a woman who could beat the crap out of a lot of men. She always has a scowl on her face, but I wouldn't dare tell her to smile.
Kobe is never happy unless he puts up 40 and the Lakers absolutely beat down their opponent. That look he gets on his face when he sticks out his jaw, is classic Mamba.
I don't know if Papelbon is just trying to psyche out hitters with his ridiculous mean mugs, but dang, dude is as angry as it gets out there on the mound.
Brady has even admitted this season that he needs to do a better job of keeping his emotions in check. He's always fired up on the football field over one thing or another. But hey, when you've been to five Super Bowls, you get a pass on certain things.
Woods throws clubs and curses more than any other golfer. I'm sure he's been asked many times by the PGA to clean it up, but he never does. You can get away with that when you're the most popular player in the sport.
Rivers is arguably the maddest QB in the NFL. He loves to scream at officials like a 12-year old bully who's picking on someone half his size.
KG is intense, to say the least. Whether he's hitting himself in the chest or the face, he's always doing it in an angry way. The Big Ticket might go down as one of the angriest athletes of all time. But regardless of that, no one can take away the fact that he's also one of the best competitors that we've ever seen.
When you talk about the meanest and angriest NFL players, Harrison's name should always come up. This guy looks like he wants to punch-a-size everyone's face.
Perkins is unquestionably one of the meanest and maddest players in all the NBA. The scowl on his face is normal at this point. I'm not sure I've ever even seen him smile.
